‘MacGyver’ headed to the big screen

A big-screen version of the U.S. television adventure series MacGyver is in the works, The Hollywood Reporter said.

The show about a resourceful secret agent, played by Richard Dean Anderson, ran from 1985 to 1992.

The Hollywood Reporter said New Line is developing a feature film based on the series with Raffaella De Laurentiis producing through her Raffaella Productions, along with Martha De Laurentiis and show creator Lee Zlotoff.

We think we're a stick of chewing gum, a paper clip and an A-list writer away from a global franchise, the entertainment industry trade newspaper quoted New Line's Richard Brener as saying.
