The EPIC Awards, created seven years ago, bring together prominent business, philanthropic, political and entertainment leaders to honor innovators who are positive representatives of women's leadership to the American public.

First launched in 1992, Every Woman Counts is the entertainment industry's only public advocacy campaign of its kind. Leveraging the top two cable networks for women, Lifetime and Lifetime Movie Network, as well as mylifetime.com, the 2008 Every Woman Counts campaign had the most extensive on-air programming, digital content and grassroots efforts to date, reaching women in more than 97 million homes. Over the past 25 years, Lifetime's advocacy activities have also played integral roles in securing the passage of five major bills into law, including legislation that combats human trafficking, prevents sexual assault and provides services to victims of domestic violence.
