Report: Madonna trying to adopt again
U.S. pop star Madonna has begun proceedings to adopt a second child from Malawi, the New York Daily News reported.
The recently divorced singer lives in Manhattan with her two biological children -- Lourdes and Rocco -- and her 3-year-old adopted son David.
Authorities told the Daily News Madonna has filed papers to adopt a 3-year-old girl named Mercy and the performer's case could be heard in a Malawi court by Monday.
However, Simon Chisale, Malawi's child welfare chief, told the newspaper this week that Madonna's love life could impact the outcome of the adoption hearing.
We do not only look at the material issues, but also the moral standing of prospective adoptive parents, because we do not want our children's morals to be corrupted, Chisale said.
