CyberDefender Launches Major National Television and Radio Campaign Through Its Expanding Partnership With Media Giant Guthy-Renker

The Media and Marketing Services Agreement Entered Into by the Companies Provides Guthy-Renker the Ability to Acquire Up to 22% of CyberDefender's Fully Diluted Common Stock

LOS ANGELES, April 2 /PRNewswire-FirstCall/ -- CyberDefender (http://www.cyberdefender.com/) (OTC Bulletin Board: CYDE), a provider of award-winning PC security and identity theft prevention solutions, today announced the launch of a marketing campaign with Guthy-Renker, a major independent direct-response marketing firm, to broadcast a series of TV and radio commercials which will emphasize a simple solution to address computer security problems and bring CyberDefender's antivirus/antispyware software to a larger national audience. Guthy-Renker's promotion of CyberDefender's flagship product, the CyberDefender Early Detection Center, will aim to more strongly establish CyberDefender as one of the most innovative providers of security solutions in the industry.

Guthy-Renker is one of the world's largest, most sophisticated direct response television companies with annual sales of more than $1.8 billion. Pursuant to the agreement, Guthy-Renker will provide a direct response media campaign, including television and radio, media planning, media buying and optimization throughout the project to promote CyberDefender's products and services. Under the terms of the agreement, which is to continue until August 31, 2010, Guthy-Renker will provide reimbursable funding of up to $16 million in radio and television media expenses over the 18-month term. As a result, Guthy-Renker will receive common stock purchase warrants entitling it to acquire, in total, approximately 22% of CyberDefender's currently outstanding common stock on a fully diluted basis. A description of the agreement has been included in, and a copy of the agreement has been attached to, CyberDefender's Annual Report on Form 10-K which it filed with the Securities and Exchange Commission on March 31, 2009 and which is available for review at www.sec.gov .
