The heavy metal band Metallica has been officially enshrined in the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame in Cleveland.

Flea of the Red Hot Chili Peppers introduced Metallica Saturday at the Public Auditorium, saying the band behind such hits as One and Enter Sandman is a perfect match for the musical Hall of Fame, The (Cleveland) Plain Dealer reported Sunday.

If you’re gonna have a Rock and Roll Hall of Fame … you’ve got to have Metallica in it, Flea said.

Metallica singer James Hetfield said the Hall of Fame honor was a dream come true.

Dream big and dare to fail … ’cause this is living proof that it is possible to make a dream come true, Hetfield said.

The Plain Dealer said other additions during the 24th annual induction ceremony included Little Anthony and the Imperials, guitarist Jeff Beck, singer Bobby Womack and the hip-hop trio Run-D.M.C.
