Posted on: Monday, 6 April 2009, 08:47 CDT

FARMINGTON HILLS, Mich., April 6 /PRNewswire/ -- Gale, part of Cengage Learning, will host a Technology Career Expo on Thursday, April 16, 2009, from 11 a.m. - 7 p.m. at its headquarters in Farmington Hills. Gale, a world leader in the publishing of electronic resources, e-books and print reference works for libraries, schools and businesses, is transforming its technology organization and adding experienced Agile development practitioners.

"In the mid-1990s, the Agile approach to software development took hold in the Detroit area with the use of extreme programming methodologies," said Gary Baker, Gale's chief information officer. "Agile has matured globally and we are happy to have Gale join the Agile community with its roots in Michigan."

Gale has more than 20 openings in the technology area including software developers, systems analysts and QA engineers. At a time when the economy is challenging, Gale is growing and in need of a number of skilled, technology professionals.

During the career expo, attendees will be able to meet with Gale staff, attend digital product demonstrations and try out some of Gale's electronic resources. On-site interviews will be conducted for those applicants whose professional experience and education fits Gale's criteria for an opening.

Attendees are encouraged to pre-register at www.gale.com/careers and bypass on-site registration.

Gale is located at 27500 Drake Rd., Farmington Hills, MI, 48331.
