University of North Carolina vs. Duke University of Connecticut vs. Boston College Harvard vs. Yale University of Florida vs. University of South Florida Temple vs. University of Pennsylvania NYU vs. Marymount Manhattan College University of Minnesota vs. University of Wisconsin, Eau Claire Indiana University vs. Ball State Ohio State University vs. Xavier University George Washington University vs. University of Virginia Boston University vs. Emerson College Stanford vs. UC Berkeley Colorado State University vs. University of Colorado, Boulder UCLA vs. UC Santa Barbara Columbia College Chicago vs. University of Chicago San Francisco State University vs. UC Santa Cruz16 the 32 comedy teams will be eliminated with the winners going on to compete in the following online and mobile rounds of voting, resulting in 1 team from each of the 4 regions of the US heading to the Finals at the Aspen RooftopComedy Festival where 1 team will be named The Country's Funniest College Students:
April 17-23 : Ultimate 8 Selection Round (narrows 16 teams to 8)April 24-May 8 : Conference Rival Match (non-elimination round - new routines posted!)May 11-17 : Funniest 4 Selection Round (narrows 8 teams to 4 - 1 from each Region will compete at the Aspen RooftopComedy Festival)June 12-13 : FINALS! Broadcasting live from the Aspen RooftopComedy Festival - (Naming of The Country's Funniest College Students!)
In addition to the Stand-up Competition, the Funny Film category will identify the best, most compelling comedic short films from student filmmakers at all schools throughout the US. Viewing and voting for this category can also be done at online at www.RooftopComedy.com/college or via mobile device at m.rooftop2009.com.
