Hugh Laurie’s book tops French list
April 10, 2009
The French translation of British actor Hugh Laurie’s novel The Gun Seller
was No. 1 on France’s bestseller list last month, the BBC reported.
The spy spoof was renamed Tout Est Sous Controle
in France.
It was released in England in 1996, years before the actor began starring in the U.S. medical drama series House,
which is a big hit in France, the BBC said.
Laurie is best known in the United Kingdom for his comic work with Stephen Fry in the TV shows Jeeves and Wooster,
and Fry and Laurie.
His film credits include Sense and Sensibility,
Stuart Little
and Monsters vs. Aliens.
