A total of 258 movies from 48 countries will be shown at the Nashville Film Festival to broaden attendees' horizons, a festival official says.
Festival Director Sallie Mayne said the 40th annual festival was created with the intent to both educate and entertain guests while also creating partnerships among groups and individuals in attendance, The (Nashville) Tennessean reported Sunday.
The heart of what we do is we use film as a vehicle to educate, entertain and enlighten, but we also look at the opportunity to connect with partnerships here so that people have a bigger experience than just seeing the film,
Mayne said.
This year's festival, which runs April 16-23, will involve more than 75 local groups with connections to the movies being screened.
The Tennessean said among this year's offerings is Autistic-like: Graham's Story,
a movie about filmmaker Eric Linhorst and his wife Jennie as they attempt to gain a better understanding of the autism diagnosis given their son, Graham.
