I-STAR ENTERTAINMENT to Stage Pet Rocks(R) Scavenger Hunt in Roxbury Park in Beverly Hills on Saturday, April 18, at 12 Noon

Posted on: Wednesday, 15 April 2009, 15:09 CDT

LOS ANGELES, April 15 /PRNewswire/ -- I-STAR ENTERTAINMENT, LLC will stage a Pet Rocks(R) Scavenger Hunt in Roxbury Park, Beverly Hills, CA, on Saturday, April 18, at 12 Noon. Youngsters, age eight and over, and their parents, are encouraged to register for the Hunt, powered by Watson Adventures, shortly after 11:30 AM. The Hunt will be staged in a grassy area adjacent to the tennis courts.

A number of celebrities will be in attendance, including: Oscar winner Shirley Jones and comedian Marty Ingels; Andrea Gabriel, co-star "Lost" (ABC); Heather Tom, co-star "Ugly Betty" (ABC); Francia Rasia and Renee Olstead, co-stars "The Secret Life of an American Teenager" (ABC Family Channel); Kristy Flores, co-star of the upcoming "Fame" movie; Nicholle Tom, "The Nanny;" Emily O'Brien, "The Young and The Restless;" Emmy winner David Tom; and Chelsea Gilligan, Miss California Teen USA.

The initial series of 12 Pet Rock(R) characters was re-introduced to the world on March 1, 2009, in partnership with Children Affected by AIDS Foundation (CAAF). Sales benefit CAAF and thousands of children and families affected by AIDS in the US, Latin America and the Caribbean. Initial sales reports from Toys "R' Us is that these adorable Pet Rock(R) characters have been 'escaping' from store shelves in record numbers!

Several hundred Pet Rock(R) characters will be scattered in the Hunt area, including two "Endangered" and "Extinct" Pet Rocks(R) whose value will increase over the years since they will not be sold in retail stores but will only be available on the official Pet Rocks(R) website (www.petrockpals.com) as prizes for those whose Pet Rocks(R) have the winning Secret Registration ID numbers.

Although they can keep as many Pet Rock(R) characters as they find, Scavenger Hunters are required to bring each Pet Rock(R) they locate -- as they find it -- to the Registration Table where each rock will receive its own Secret Identification Number that can later be registered on the Pet Rocks(R) website to see if they have one of the extra valuable "Extinct" or "Endangered" Pet Rocks(R).

Another Pet Rocks(R) Scavenger Hunt has been scheduled in New York City on Saturday, May 9, at 12 noon in the Central Park Zoo as part of the World Conservation Society's 'Migration Sensation' weekend activities.
