Jimmy Breslin’s daughter on life support
Writer Jimmy Breslin’s 44-year-old daughter is on life support in New York’s Bellevue Hospital Center after choking in a Manhattan restaurant, her family said.
L’Express owner Simon Oren told the New York Post his restaurant staff didn’t perform the Heimlich maneuver on Kelly Breslin because she didn’t appear to be choking.
Oren added the woman collapsed at her table after plates had been taken away.
Paramedics reportedly were called to the scene about 4 a.m. Friday and Breslin was transported to the hospital.
The next 48 hours are going to be extremely critical,
her brother Christopher Breslin told the Post Sunday.
Jimmy Breslin is a Pulitzer Prize-winning columnist and author best known for his work in the newspaper Newsday, as well as New York magazine.
