Verizon FiOS TV Offers New York Area Customers Free Mets Games On-Demand From SNY

SNY and Verizon Reach Programming Agreement, Making SNY First Regional Sports Network in New York to Provide VOD to FiOS TV Customers

NEW YORK, April 21 /PRNewswire/ — Verizon FiOS TV, the only all-digital TV service delivered by a major provider over an advanced fiber network straight to customers’ homes and businesses, and SNY – the official TV home of the New York Mets, New York Jets and Big East Conference – have reached a programming agreement to bring New York area viewers the most comprehensive sports video-on-demand (VOD) content in the region. SNY was the first regional sports network in New York to provide college and professional games to Verizon.

This agreement provides Verizon’s FiOS TV subscribers in New York City, Westchester and Rockland counties, Long Island, Buffalo, and Northern New Jersey free access to more than 120 New York Mets regular season game telecasts, classic Mets games, “Mets Weekly” and “Kids Clubhouse.” Mets fans may have already seen some of the coverage, which began earlier this month.

In addition to Mets programming, FiOS TV subscribers will have access to Big East programming, including the Big East “Game-of-the-Week,” for both football and basketball. FiOS TV subscribers will also have access to SNY’s critically acclaimed original entertainment programming featuring “Beer Money,” a New York sports trivia show, and “Street Games,” which celebrates distinct New York athletic games including stickball, handball and roller hockey. Big East football and basketball games, as well as SNY’s original programming, have been available on FiOS TV VOD since last fall.

FiOS TV subscribers who miss the regular season games can catch a replay on-demand, with access to the game for three days. Customers can access the free VOD content in the SNY Folder, found in both the FiOS1 “Local Zone” and “Sports” categories.
