Leno books free comedy gig in Ohio
Jay Leno announced on Monday night’s edition of The Tonight Show
that he is planning to perform his free Comedy Stimulus
act in Wilmington, Ohio.
The May 10 stand-up comedy show for people struggling due to the current economic crunch will feature an appearance by Tonight
bandleader Kevin Eubanks. The free comedy show is to take place at the Roberts Centre, which is donating its venue for the event, NBC said in a release.
We are proud to partner with Jay Leno and to offer the residents of Wilmington a sense of renewal and optimism,
Frank Cooper of Pepsi-Cola North America Beverages said in a statement. We were there to support Jay’s stimulus shows in Detroit and we look forward to another fun and uplifting event.
As the event sponsor, Pepsi will be underwriting the show.
Tickets for the event, which is produced in cooperation with Gail & Rice Inc., will be available at the Roberts Centre Conference Center beginning at noon Monday.
When receiving the tickets, participants must present a photo ID. Tickets will be limited to two per person, NBC said.
