Bale says he went overboard with rant

Welsh actor Christian Bale admits he went overboard with his profanity-laced tirade against the director of photography for Terminator Salvation.

However, The Telegraph quoted Bale as also saying he felt his trust had been betrayed when a crew member taped his outburst and released the audio on the Internet last February, exposing the actor to countless jokes and making his tantrum a surprise hit on YouTube where creative users even set it to music.

Hey, I did what I did. I'm not hiding from that. I went overboard. But there is an essential trust and it's not a tacit one, it's a verbal one, a spoken one, which is (that) every sound guy says, 'We are not only not recording, we're not even listening,' Bale told Total Film. So, well, there goes that. I do stress, though, it's not in any way a trust that's there to cover up bad behavior. It's not about that. It's an essential trust that's needed for creativity.

Bale plays hero John Connor in the upcoming fourth installment in the Terminator film series. He previously played Batman in Batman Begins and The Dark Knight.
