Rapper Nas, R&B star Kelis splitting up

The U.S. hip-hop couple of Nas and his wife Kelis are breaking up with Kelis, who is pregnant, filing for divorce in Los Angeles, her representative said.
I can confirm that she has filed for divorce,
Kelis' representative told Vibe Magazine Thursday. We request the media to respect her privacy during this very difficult time.
Laura Wasser, an attorney for the influential R&B diva, filed a divorce petition from the multi-platinum rapper citing irreconcilable differences. Kelis is seven months pregnant, the magazine reported.
Vibe said Nas and Kelis met in 2002 at an MTV Video Music Awards afterparty hosted by hip-hop mogul Sean Diddy
Combs and, after dating for two years, married in an Atlanta on July 28, 2003.
The two collaborated on Kelis' single In Public,
which appeared on her 2003 release Tasty,
and she made an appearance on Nas' controversial 2006 song Hip Hop Is Dead.
Internet rumors of a breakup have been circulating for more than a year, Vibe said.
