Pop star Rihanna canceled a concert that had been planned for this month in the United Arab Emirates, event organizers said.
We want to share with you that Rihanna and her management will not be accepting to hold a public concert at this time as it is not appropriate timing for her,
Yassin Matbouly of the Vibe Entertainment Management Agency said in a statement.
The performance would have been Rihanna's first since her high-profile alleged altercation with her on-off beau Chris Brown in Los Angeles in February, E! News said.
Brown was arrested and faces assault charges in connection with the alleged incident. He has pleaded innocent and is due in court May 28, the same day the United Arab Emirates gig was scheduled, E! noted.
The 21-year-old singer attended Monday night's Costume Institute Gala at the Metropolitan Museum of Art in New York.
