Radio’s Michael Savage protests black list

May 7, 2009

Conservative U.S. radio talk show host Michael Savage has demanded his name be taken off a list of people banned from entering the United Kingdom.

The list of 22 names was issued by Britain’s home secretary, Jacqui Smith. It was compiled, the government said, to prevent listees from seeking to provoke others to serious criminal acts and fostering hatred which might lead to inter-community violence, while visiting the country, CNN reported.

I’ve heard from British attorneys who are salivating to set the record straight and win quite a large settlement should she not remove my name from the list, Savage told the U.S. broadcaster in an interview Thursday.

Savage, 67, has sparked controversy in the past for expressing his views on homosexuality, illegal

immigrants from Mexico and Islam during his Savage Nation program.
