‘Star Trek’ earns $7M Thursday night
Star Trek earned $7 million Thursday into Friday, its first night in U.S. theaters, Variety.com reported.
Director J.J. Abrams’ take on the iconic sci-fi franchise, which is earning glowing reviews from critics, opened at 7 p.m. Thursday on 3,800 U.S. screens.
The film stars Chris Pine, Zachary Quinto, Simon Pegg and Winona Ryder.
X-Men Origins: Wolverine opened last weekend with $85 million and was No. 1 at the U.S. box office.
