Movie memorabilia sale yields $4.2M
Props, costumes, posters, photos and other Hollywood memorabilia brought in $4.2 million at Profiles in History’s spring auction, the auction house said.
Among the top items sold were Harrison Ford’s blaster and costume from Blade Runner
; an original 1931 Frankenstein
movie poster; The Creature from the Black Lagoon
mask; and Arnold Schwarzenegger’s Mr. Freeze costume from Batman & Robin.
Also sold were the cape Bela Lugosi wore in Plan 9 from Outer Space
; an archive of negatives from the MGM, Fox and Warner Bros. vaults; Matthew Broderick’s Ferris Bueller’s Day Off
leather jacket; Charlton Heston’s Planet of the Apes
costume; Derek Meers’s Jason Voorhees costume from Friday the 13th
; two velociraptors feeding on a triceratops display from Jurassic Park
; and Ray Park’s Darth Maul fighting lightsaber from Star Wars: Episode 1 — The Phantom Menace,
the auction house said in a news release.
