C&R Research's New YouthBeat(R) Product Launched - A Continuous Pulse of Attitudes and Behaviors of Kids, Tweens and Teens

Posted on: Tuesday, 12 May 2009, 10:17 CDT

CHICAGO, May 12 /PRNewswire/ -- Which popular and seemingly adult beverage is becoming a regular part of some tween and teen diets? What teen star is just as popular with first graders as with high school seniors? What traditional media channel remains a strong influence over young people even as new information channels explode?

The answers - coffee, Miley Cyrus and printed magazines - are among the insights gleaned from youth in a new syndicated research product just launched by C&R Research in Chicago: YouthBeat(R). This is the first research product of its type that focuses, in a single compendium that's issued biannually, on the attitudes and behaviors of three specific youth demographics: kids (grade schoolers), tweens (middle schoolers) and teens (high schoolers). YouthBeat(R) is also the first research of its kind to also track the differences in behaviors as children transition between these three critical lifestages.

"YouthBeat(R) is a must-have for marketers who realize the need to constantly hone their understanding of this dynamic audience if they expect to be devising products and services that anticipate and meet their changing tastes," said Robbin Jaklin, president of C&R Research.

"It's the only research of its type that provides an iterative look at young people as they're advancing in age and maturity, with their tastes and preferences evolving accordingly. The insights provided through YouthBeat(R) give marketers an edge in reaching these audiences effectively," she added.

The YouthBeat(R) findings are generated by C&R's permission-based research panels, KidzEyes.com and TeensEyes.com, which consist of approximately 36,000 children between 1st grade and 12th grade. The web-based questionnaire covers 12 modules, including Music, Magazines & Newspapers, TV and Shopping. As a bonus to subscribers, YouthBeat(R) also includes corresponding data outlining perspectives from parents.
