'Sharing Miracles' Television Program Now Airs on More Than 300 Stations

WASHINGTON, May 13 /PRNewswire-USNewswire/ -- Sharing Miracles, a 30-minute public affairs television program that tells the compelling and inspirational stories of real patients has expanded its reach across America, now airing on more than 300 television stations across the country. The current episode features nine-time NBA all-star and Basketball Hall-of-Famer Dominique Wilkins, who has diabetes.

"In just over a year, the Sharing Miracles network has expanded from just one television station to more than 300, reaching every single state," said Billy Tauzin, president and CEO of the Pharmaceutical Research and Manufacturers of America (PhRMA) and host of the program. "This is a testament to the quality and importance of the program."

Next month's show will feature Pro Football Hall-of-Famer and Super Bowl-winning coach Mike Ditka, who battles heart disease. Known as "America's Coach," Ditka is only one of two people to win the Super Bowl as a player, assistant coach, and head coach. In 1988, he was inducted into the Pro Football Hall of Fame for his successful playing career as a tight end that included 12 seasons with the Chicago Bears, Philadelphia Eagles and Dallas Cowboys. He was voted NFL rookie of the year and earned a trip to the Pro Bowl on five separate occasions.

Future episodes of Sharing Miracles will feature Grammy Award-winning rapper and Law & Order SVU co-star Ice T, who lost both of his parents to heart attacks and suffers from high blood pressure; four-time World Series champion Darryl Strawberry, who overcame colon cancer; and actor Danny Glover, co-star of the Hollywood blockbuster Lethal Weapon movies, who battled epilepsy most of his life.
