Vine Theater Lights Up June 25, 2009 as 21st Century Laserium CyberTheater Flagship Anchors Affordable Family Entertainment in ‘New Hollywood’

HOLLYWOOD, Calif., May 15 /PRNewswire/ — On June 25th 2009, the all-new Laserium CyberTheater opens at the refurbished Vine Theater, located at Hollywood’s most famous intersection, Hollywood and Vine. After playing to 20 million fans in 46 cities, including 28 years at the Griffith Park Observatory, Laserium, the internationally recognized brand that is synonymous with laser shows and displays, is now back, with a brand new experience for young and old alike.

The Laserium CyberTheater will offer a variety of experiences, including technologically updated versions of three of the most popular Classic Laserium shows, featuring music from Pink Floyd’s Dark Side of the Moon, the Beatles, and Led Zeppelin. The new venue will also present brand new shows with exciting and interactive technology, and live entertainment featuring the hottest new bands, iconic performers and theme nights. The redesigned 424 seat theater will feature two LightDancer musical instruments, an extended stage for live performances, multiple screens and surround sound with immersive lasers and computer graphics to create an experience that visitors will want to come back to again and again. Online ticketing and detailed information are available at www.LASERIUM.com.

The LightDancer interactive light instrument makes its world premiere at the new venue. These unique patented, musical devices (the only two in the world) allow audience members to literally “step into the light” and create their own accompaniments to yesterday’s and today’s top hit songs by moving through, and breaking, beams of light. Audience members participate in the show and create music which is always in tune and in time with the score being played. The LightDancers also trigger video, laser and lighting effects, effortlessly allowing the audience members to become laserists, DJ’s and VJ’s (video jockeys) while “playing-the-light.” This is a one of a kind interactive experience that promises to become a favorite of kids and adults alike.

Upon opening in June, the CyberTheater will feature 15 shows per week from Wednesday through Sunday, with the following family-friendly shows and pricing including $10.00 tickets for all shows for children 12 and under accompanied by an adult.

  • $12 Classic Laserium Show Patrons select a Laserium presentation featuring the music of either Led Zeppelin, Pink Floyd or the Beatles.
  • $18 Combo Package A Classic Laserium show and the Interactive LightDancer Experience.

In September the following will be added:

  • $21 Theme Nights (Salsa, Boogie Nights, Interactive Dating among many planned) and Emerging Artist Nights with “LaserDJs” and live artist performances on the large Laserium stage.
  • $24 Special Attractions featuring Billboard Charting or Grammy Nominated artists with full-featured immersive shows beginning with ‘David Arkenstone: Journey Into Light,’ ‘ILONA EUROPA’s RockTronica(TM)’ and ‘Mobius 8.’
  • $29 and up Star Performances (always some $29 tickets for early comers) and special meet and greet opportunities with prominent, established, artists.

The Laserium CyberTheater is also available for select private parties, corporate events, premieres and charity fundraisers.

Mick Fleetwood, co-founder of the band Fleetwood Mac, has accepted the position of official spokesperson for the new Laserium and will personally appear at Laserium on opening days June 25 and June 26 to greet fans. Fleetwood gives a video demonstration of the LightDancer at www.MyLASERIUMTV.com. Noted as Mick Fleetwood’s favorite dining destination, Fleming’s Prime Steakhouse & Wine Bar will offer guests special discounts on Laserium shows this summer. Fleming’s special offers will be available in Fleming’s locations June 1 through August 31. For a Fleming’s restaurant locator, visit www.FlemingsSteakhouse.com.

Laserium is an international trademarked brand, and holds a family-friendly reputation for a unique and uplifting entertainment experience. The company will open the flagship venue with a five-year minimum run at the Vine Theater. Advance tickets are available for purchase at www.LASERIUM.com. Because the theater has a limited seating capacity, everyone is strongly encouraged to buy tickets online and well in advance to ensure getting a seat.

Come step into the light…. Beginning June 25th 2009.
