The WATERFRONT INVASION is a summer-long series of events and promotions designed around two new exhibitions: Chinasaurs: Dinosaur Dynasty at the Maryland Science Center and Jellies: Oceans Out of Balance at the National Aquarium. In addition to the exhibitions, the summer-long waterfront promotion will also include family-friendly programming like an outdoor movie series with classic invasion movies “Attack of the Killer Tomatoes” and “Godzilla,” free weekly “Waterfront Wiggle” kid’s concerts, sporting activities, contests, and hands-on activities in front of the Aquarium and science demonstrations positioned around the Inner Harbor.

“We welcome the invasion of Chinasaurs, Jellies and visitors from all over the country to Baltimore this summer,” said Tom Noonan, president and CEO, Baltimore Area Convention and Visitors Association. “These exhibits allow visitors to experience two of the Inner Harbor’s most popular family-friendly attractions, adding to Baltimore’s appeal as the perfect getaway.”

Travelers are encouraged to visit www.waterfrontinvasion.com for information regarding special WATERFRONT INVASION ticketing options, retail and restaurant discounts, hotel packages and special events taking place around the Inner Harbor throughout the summer.

Chinasaurs: Dinosaur Dynasty at the Maryland Science Center will feature more than 20 dinosaur skeletons in what is the largest touring exhibition of authentic Chinese dinosaur fossils. Visitors will discover massive skeletons of rarely seen and exotic dinosaurs, fossils, claws and dinosaur nests with real fossil eggs. Chinasaurs also relates the Western cultural fascination with dinosaurs to the Chinese perspective through original art.

Jellies Invasion: Oceans Out of Balance at the National Aquarium will explore how Jellies have survived – and thrived – amidst environmental changes that have negatively affected other forms of sea life. Jellies are nearly invisible, but they are everywhere including the Atlantic Ocean, the Chesapeake Bay, and even Baltimore’s Inner Harbor. Nine different species of these unique and pre-historic creatures will be on display in an exhibit that is as mysterious and colorful as the Jellies themselves.

The WATERFRONT INVASION will continue through Labor Day (Sept 7) when the Chinasaurs exhibit closes. Be a part of the invasion – get to them, before they get to you!
