Herz had headed FASB since 2002 and was re-appointed to a second term in 2007. His opinions and observations weigh heavily in any discussion of market regulation. FASB works to insure the public's interest is protected by making sure private sector companies adhere to the same set of accounting and financial reporting principles. A certified public accountant, Mr. Herz worked at Price Waterhouse and Price Waterhouse Coopers before joining FASB.
