Palm Beach Ice Works Training Facility Announces Grand Opening

PALM BEACH, Fla., June 11 /PRNewswire/ — Lori Alf, Owner of Palm Beach Ice Works, is announcing the state-of-the-art Olympic training facility will be open for public use in late summer. Lori Alf’s vision for the rink is to provide a world-class training facility for any age group of competitive skaters. A successful business woman who co-founded the top government contractor National Air Cargo, Lori Alf bought and developed the ice rink located at 1590 North Florida Mango Road in West Palm Beach, Florida.

“I’m intimately familiar with the challenges faced by serious figure and hockey skaters trying to train in public facilities. The limited amount of ice available at public rinks along with the equipment needed for off-ice conditioning that is usually not available can make it difficult for an inspiring skater to train,” stated Lori Alf. “Palm Beach Ice Works is my gift to the serious skater because it will provide the positive training environment that can allow them to take their skill to the next level. As the sport is becoming more technically challenging, it is important that the skater has a place to complete their work.”

Palm Beach Ice Works is just one minute north of the West Palm Beach Airport, and has a 200×100 feet (Olympic size) rink in order to create an optimal training environment for the competitive skater. The small country club like atmosphere enforces goal-oriented conditioning for both the figure skater and serious ice hockey player. The rink provides facilities and services such as off-ice conditioning, an indoor running track, Dartfish (sport video training), Ballet and Pilates, and Sports Psychology. There will also be a synthetic ice studio arena that will offer an introduction to figure skating and beginner hockey.

Similar to how Wellington, Florida is the Mecca for equestrian training, Lori Alf is hoping to create the same environment for figure skating in West Palm Beach, Florida. A full roster of elite figure skating coaches and hockey coaches training skaters on-site will be announced later in June. Learn to skate instructors will focus on basic skills training as well as a Bridge Program into the Elite Program.
