The U.S. Open Championship is considered by many to be the most difficult and complete test in golf. The Black Course, with its length and exceptionally high rough putting a premium on both distance and accuracy, also hosted the 2002 U.S. Open, becoming the first public course ever to host the championship. Tiger Woods won that year's event with a performance that left him as the sole player under par after four days.
