MyMojo's Data On Mobile Consumption Trends Identifies Ringtones And Videos As Fastest-Growing Categories
Despite the rise in consumer interest in video, requests for more traditional mobile content like ringtones and wallpapers still heavily outpace requests for mobile video. Below is a breakdown of MyMojo's mobile content usage statistics for the month of May:
Ringtones: 71% Wallpapers: 16% Games and Applications: 9% Mobile video: 4%MyMojo also noted that the categories of ringtone consumption appear to be shifting.
"While hip-hop fans were a large percentage of the early adopters of mobile content," Ferber stated. "Fans of other styles of music are now more actively seeking digital content for their cell phones. Consumption of rock, R&B, and country media has climbed significantly over the last few months."
