'Pictures of the Year, International' Makes Los Angeles Debut at Its New Home, The Annenberg Space for Photography

LOS ANGELES, June 17 /PRNewswire/ --

WHAT: Preview of "Pictures of the Year, International" (POYi), the second featured show at the new Annenberg Space for Photography. The exhibit features the winning images from POYi, the oldest and most prestigious photojournalism competition in the world. Chosen from over 45,000 entries from photographers from dozens of countries, the exhibit photographs examine thought-provoking issues ranging from the economy to global conflicts to human rights. The morning will offer an opportunity to see the print and digital exhibit prior to the official opening day and before a scheduled half-day of presentations and discussions. Members of the press are welcome to stay for the day's activities. WHO: Award-winning photographers from around the world will speak about their work --- Uriel Sinai, Tim Hussin, Seth Gitner, Emilio Morenatti. Rick Shaw, Director of Pictures of the Year, International and Leonard Aube, Executive Director, Annenberg Foundation will introduce the exhibit.
