U.S. celebrity couple Brad Pitt and Angelina Jolie have donated $1 million through their Jolie-Pitt Foundation to aid refugees in Pakistan.
People.com quoted Antonio Guterres, the head of the United Nations Refugees Agency, as expressing his gratitude to the foundation for its help in what he described as the most challenging humanitarian crisis of the past decade.
More than 2 million people reportedly are displaced in Pakistan.
Film stars Jolie and Pitt are the parents of six children. They, along with their family, donated $1 million last week to a hospital in Pitt's hometown of Springfield, Mo., toward the creation of the Jane Pitt Pediatric Cancer Center, which is being named in honor of Pitt's mother.
