This is the third straight year AT&T has been included on this list; it has been included in the overall list every year since its inception three years ago. AT&T, along with the other organizations that readers ranked at the top for their support for minorities and women, their attention to work/life balance and their commitment to supplier diversity, will be recognized in Diversity/Careers' June/July issue as 2009 Best Diversity Companies.
This year's Best Diversity Company list was selected with help from Diversity/Careers readers who selected 100 companies in sectors such as aerospace, healthcare, telecom, automotive, manufacturing, among others. This award is based on readers' perceptions formed by their own experiences, conversations with others, and current events. This list is produced annually by Diversity/Careers magazine, a bi-monthly publication intended to serve African-American, Hispanic, Asian American, and Native American engineering and IT professionals, as well as people with disabilities and members of other diversity groups. Readers turn to Diversity/Careers and its companion website, www.diversitycareers.com, for information on a marquee list of corporations, government agencies and NGOs seeking to recruit seasoned professionals and recent college graduates.
