Pitt’s ‘Moneyball’ no longer rolling
Columbia Pictures has decided to delay Hollywood actor Brad Pitt's next movie,
Moneyball, after director Steven Soderbergh rewrote the agreed-upon script.
The film reportedly was to have started shooting Monday in Phoenix.
Variety.com reported Columbia Pictures boss Amy Pascal pitched the baseball business movie into
limited turnaround, giving Soderbergh the opportunity to bring it to another studio.
Pascal opted to halt the project after reading Soderbergh's rewrite of Steven Zaillian's script and finding it vastly different from the earlier versions she approved, the entertainment industry trade newspaper said.
If the film isn't picked up by another studio, Soderbergh could be replaced. Other scenarios could see the movie delayed until all parties involved are on the same page or it may be scrapped entirely, Variety.com said.
