Fandango’s iPhone App Sees More Than 1 Million Downloads in First 90 Days

LOS ANGELES, June 23 /PRNewswire/ — Fandango’s application for movie showtimes, ticketing and information on the Apple iPhone and iPod touch has been downloaded more than 1.3 million times since its launch (March 13, 2009).

With Transformers: Revenge of the Fallen opening tonight at midnight and Harry Potter and the Half-Blood Prince opening July 15, Fandango continues to be a popular application with mobile moviegoers.

The Fandango iPhone app has ranked as high as #1 among free entertainment applications in Apple’s App Store, and has consistently been in the Top 25 in that category since its launch. Among all free iPhone and iPod touch applications overall, the Fandango app has ranked as high as #8.

Due to popular demand, an updated version is now available for the iPhone and iPod touch, offering Fandango users the ability to access their online accounts from the app.

Fandango’s iPhone app is also proving to be a popular platform for marketers looking to reach tech-savvy entertainment enthusiasts.
