Clifford Chance Art Exhibition Marks Gay Pride and Stonewall Riots Anniversary

NEW YORK, June 23 /PRNewswire/ -- Clifford Chance is celebrating Gay Pride with a joint art exhibition in its New York and London offices. Following last summer's successful launch of the transatlantic format, an exhibition will again be held with receptions for clients, employees and other honored guests in both cities on Wednesday, June 24, 2009.

Organized by the Firm's lesbian, gay, bisexual and transgender employee networks in New York and London, the exhibition marks the 40th anniversary of the Stonewall riots in New York, which are generally regarded as the origin of the modern international gay rights movement.

The third annual New York exhibition will showcase historical photographs of the gay rights movement over the past 40 years by photojournalist and activist Bettye Lane. The London exhibition, which is in its second year, will feature the works of seven gay and lesbian artists: Kerry Andrews, Annie Attridge, Roberto Ekholm, Rotimi Fani-Kayode, Lucia King, Alana Lake with Fayann Smith, and Stuart Mayes.
