The Echo Nest Launches Fanalytics(TM) – Semantic Web Analytics for the Music Industry

SOMERVILLE, Mass., June 24 /PRNewswire/ – The Echo Nest, a music intelligence platform providing data-driven solutions to the digital music industry, today announced the launch of its Fanalytics platform. Fanalytics applies patented web crawling, machine learning and semantic web technology to help artists and labels better understand, locate and build their online fan base.

As part of the launch, The Echo Nest announced an existing customer base of industry leaders, including Interscope Records (Universal), Independent Label Group (WMG), RCA Music Group (Sony) and entertainment services company, The Orchard. The Echo Nest’s Fanalytics platform is based on technology developed over twelve years at MIT, Berkeley and Columbia university by the company’s two PhD co-founders, Brian Whitman and Tristan Jehan.
