Radcliffe downplays sex symbol talk

British actor Daniel Radcliffe, star of the Harry Potter movies, says he does not really see himself a sex symbol.

InTouch magazine reported Friday that during an appearance in New York, the 19-year-old actor said he considers his Harry Potter and the Goblet of Fire co-star Rob Pattinson a more believable sex symbol.

It’s very kind of them, but I don’t know. If girls like short and nerdy, then I’m a sex symbol! Radcliffe said of those who say he’s hot.

Rob Pattinson is a sex symbol. He’s a genuinely sexy guy — he’s got the height!

Meanwhile, actress Bonnie Wright, who plays Ginny Weasley in Harry Potter and the Half Blood Prince, applauded Radcliffe’s rumored romance with actress Laura O’Toole.

I think it’s lovely he’s found somebody with the same background. I think it helps when someone can understand something that you’re in, Wright told InTouch at Thursday’s premiere.
