The Los Angeles Police Department is treating singer Michael Jackson's death as a homicide, multiple law enforcement sources told TMZ.
Investigators have publicly said they are waiting for the results of toxicology tests to come back before they categorize the pop icon's June 25 death at the age of 50.
However, TMZ Wednesday cited unnamed law enforcement sources as saying there is evidence use of the anesthesia Propofol was the primary reason the singer died, and the LAPD subsequently began treating the Jackson case as a homicide focusing on Dr. Conrad Murray, the entertainer's private physician, because he is suspected of administering the Propofol.
Murray's attorney neither confirmed nor denied whether he administered the drug to Jackson, TMZ said.
