ANN ARBOR, Mich., July 17 /PRNewswire/ -- Borders((R)) and Waldenbooks((R)) stores nationwide will welcome kids to a free, out-of-this-world space camp event Saturday, July 25 to mark the 40th Anniversary of the moon landing. The event, which kicks off at 2 p.m. will feature a host of activities that could vary by store, including:
- Space camp storytime and storytelling - Toddlers and youngsters will love gathering together to enjoy this special space-themed storytime with a related coloring activity. While the young kids are participating in storytime, children ages 6 to 12 will listen to spooky summer camp-style stories. Kids will want to listen closely as they'll be asked to do a little storytelling of their own by adding their own scary scenes and ideas.
- Space camp games - Games will vary from store to store, but kids ages 3 to 7 can expect to have a great time engaging with others in some enriching intergalactic fun.
- Moonwalk trivia - Kids ages 8 to 12 won't want to miss this opportunity show off their knowledge of the historic lunar landing and other missions into space during the trivia portion of the event.
- Craft projects - While youngsters create artful spaceships during arts and crafts time, older kids can really get creative and fashion their own moon habitats.
- Face painting - What young astronaut-in-training would not want their face painted to mark this special day - and the anniversary of the historic lunar landing. Face painting will round out a fun afternoon of free entertainment for kids of all ages.
During the afternoon's activities, kids and their families can sample delicious treats including Peach FruitKula((R)) and Peach Raspberry Cobbler Cake from the Seattle's Best Coffee cafe located in most Borders superstores.
