Bad weather cancels Kings of Leon show
A publicist for the Kings of Leon says poor weather forced the U.S. rock band to cancel its performance at Spain’s Benicassim festival.
The BBC reported Sunday the unidentified publicist cited heavy winds and unsafe conditions at the Spanish festival as the reasons for the Nashville band’s decision to forgo its Friday performance.
The publicist said attempts to rescheduled the Sex on Fire
band’s festival performance were unsuccessful because it is to perform at an upcoming Swiss festival.
This is a very big disappointment to the band (which is) looking forward to performing in Spain at Benicassim as one of the big highlights of (its) summer of live activity,
the publicist said.
Singer Lily Allen also canceled her performance at the festival in Spain because she was sick, according to a statement on the singer’s MySpace page.
Lily has been diagnosed today as having gastroenteritis by her doctor and has been told she is not fit to fly to Spain,
the statement said.
She is very sorry to let fans down and hopes to be back to full strength as soon as possible.
