VH1 planning Divas concert in NYC

VH1 says it has booked Adele, Kelly Clarkson, Leona Lewis and Miley Cyrus to perform in New York at its first VH1 Divas concert in four years.

The event is scheduled to take place Sept. 17. It will air live on VH1.

For the first time ever, these leading ladies at the top of their musical game will perform together live at the Brooklyn Academy of Music Howard Gilman Opera House in Brooklyn, the network announced Tuesday. Continuing in true 'Divas' tradition, the evening will feature a night of unforgettable performances from various performers, presenters and special guests. Additional performers and presenters will be announced in the coming weeks.

An amazingly talented group of young women have successfully launched themselves into the global music scene since our last VH1 Divas show. We're very excited to have so many of them join us at this year's momentous event, VH1's Lee Rolontz said in a statement. Adele, Kelly, Leona and Miley have all captured the world's attention with their talent and have earned their designation as VH1 Divas this year. Don't let some of their young ages fool you -- these women are among the best entertainers in the world and will continue to thrill music fans for a long time to come.

Featured performers at the Divas concerts since they began in 1998 include Diana Ross, Tina Turner, Cher, Mariah Carey, Celine Dion, Aretha Franklin, Mary J. Blige, Shania Twain, Faith Hill, Whitney Houston, Beyonce and Chaka Khan.
