Amit Apel Design Honored by City of Beverly Hills

The city of Beverly Hills held the inaugural Single-Family Design Awards and honored Amit Apel Design Inc., (http://www.apeldesign.com), a boutique custom design firm, specializing in exterior, interior and furniture design. The Design Review Commission of Beverly Hills selected Apel's design on January 29, 2008 for a single-family home on 164 North Stanley Drive. The Awards recognize merit in single family residential design and represents the best in single-family home design in Beverly Hills.

On the heels of the awards, it was announced that Amit Apel, Israeli born designer and owner of Amit Apel Design Inc., will lead two highly distinctive and inviting design projects of condominiums-structures located in the highly revered West Hollywood district that are poised to become West Hollywood landmarks. The first green-lighted project is a six-unit condo building located on West Knoll Drive. The second project, currently at the final stages of approval is a 14-unit condominium complex located on La Cienega Boulevard.

"Due to the combination of the developer and the city of West Hollywood, which is known for being very difficult and very stringent about what they will entertain design-wise, a platform has been presented that allowed me to express a modern style for both projects but not in a stunted presentation," expressed Apel .

Apel, known for his distinctive design work has gained recognition for several notable projects. His creative work has caught the eyes of others in the area to the point that Apel's design has graced 27 single-family homes within a 500 ft. radius of 5th St. and La Cienega Boulevard in the last 18 months.

Additional recognized work includes the Holiday House Condominiums in Malibu with original design by renowned architect Richard Neutra. The Exterior and interior renovations have been done with the utmost respect to the original design and original architect. Originally a motel, the 18 units, each measuring 700 Sq. Ft in size, have been refreshed and presented as vacation condo units with amazing ocean views. These units have quickly become primary homes for many of the owners that are classically modern interiors complementing the exterior and accommodate a casual lifestyle.
