Bruce Greenwood, Noel Fisher and Linda Emond have begun work on A Dog Named Christmas,
a TV movie filming in Saskatchewan, Canada, CBS said.
The holiday movie is about a developmentally challenged young man, with a penchant for caring for animals in need, who sets out to convince his family -- and their whole rural community -- to participate in a local shelter's inaugural Adopt a Dog for Christmas Program.
Fisher plays the main character, while Greenwood and Emond portray his parents.
The TV movie is expected to air on CBS as a Hallmark Hall of Fame production. No run date has been announced yet.
