New Release of CisionPoint Public Relations Software Platform Measures ROI and Value of Media Relations Campaigns

Posted on: Thursday, 23 July 2009, 13:12 CDT

CHICAGO, July 23 /PRNewswire/ -- Cision, the leading provider of media research, distribution, monitoring and analysis services to the public relations industry and other communication professionals, today introduced significant upgrades to its CisionPoint integrated software platform, including automated media measurement and analysis tools to determine the value and return-on-investment (ROI) of media relations campaigns. The new release also features significant enhancements to the CisionPoint media database, including listings of thousands of journalists' Twitter handles with samples of their recent Tweets as well as links to additional useful research sources.

"By integrating Advanced Analytics into the on-demand CisionPoint platform, Cision once again leads the industry in providing the most robust software platform for managing public relations programs," said Joe Bernardo, CEO of Cision North America. "Demonstrating the value of public relations is essential in this challenging economy, and Cision's Advanced Analytics provide both the tools and consulting services you need to understand the impact of your news, quickly measure results against your competitors and demonstrate ROI."

Clients who subscribe to CisionPoint Advanced Analytics also get assistance in interpreting and reporting results from a Cision consultant trained in measurement and analysis of media coverage. Cision analysts worldwide already lead the industry in PR program measurement and analysis, applying the proven Delahaye measurement methodology to PR campaigns for many of the world's largest corporations.

Cision Advanced Analytics Determine ROI

CisionPoint Advanced Analytics automatically code print, online and broadcast coverage for tone on a five-point scale, calculate Net Effect, and provide an Impact Score to measure both quantitative and qualitative success. The CisionPoint dashboard provides dynamically updated charts, enabling real-time analysis of results as they are monitored. The new tools compare share of voice, media mix, tone, Impact Score and other metrics for companies and divisions, brands and products, spokespeople, key messages, campaigns, competitors and other factors. Access to a dedicated Cision analyst enables the client to develop effective analyses demonstrating ROI based on the factors most important to the client's company or organization.

"Public Relations professionals need a simple, clear way to demonstrate the success of their media campaigns," said K.C. Brown, Senior Vice President of Analysis Services, adding that CisionPoint Analytics are "a giant step beyond" traditional measurements equating PR impressions to equivalent value of paid advertising placements. "Unlike ad-equivalency measures, CisionPoint Analytics can assess the impact of coverage, not just the volume, by understanding and measuring the tone and prominence of coverage that influences perceptions."

Other CisionPoint Enhancements Improve PR Productivity

The CisionPoint summer release improves the industry's best single integrated dashboard application to plan media campaigns, connect with the media, monitor results in print, broadcast and online media, and analyze and report ROI. Along with Advanced Analytics, the release features significant improvements to the Bacon's Media Database, which now includes Twitter handles for more than 4,000 journalists - more than any other media database - and journalists' profiles now include their 10 most recent Tweets. CisionPoint also includes links to additional research sources via Google, LinkedIn and Digg.
