Investor Buffett star of new cartoon
U.S. investor Warren Buffett will bring credibility as the star of the new cartoon series
The Secret Millionaires Club, the show’s creator says.
Andy Heyward of A Squared Entertainment LLC said an animated version of Buffett, chief executive officer of Berkshire Hathaway, will spend time on series offering investment advice to a group of kids, The Wall Street Journal reported Friday.
“His name lends credibility,” Heyward said of Buffett’s involvement.
Heyward said Buffett, who will provide the voice-over for his animated character, was actively involved in the early stages of the cartoon’s conceptualization.
Heyward said Buffett opposed an initial idea for the series that would have had the show’s child stars winning the lottery.
He didn’t want to encourage buying lottery tickets, he said.
Millionaires Club are expected to premiere online sometime in late 2009 or early 2010, the Wall Street Journal said.
