FISHERS, Ind., July 27 /PRNewswire/ -- As thousands of golfers and their fans descend upon the Indianapolis area for the 2009 U.S. Senior Open Championship, Comcast today announced it has installed its advanced fiber-optic network at Crooked Stick Golf Club in Carmel, enabling the estimated 150,000 visitors to access Comcast Business Class Internet, Voice and TV services at dozens of spots right along the course throughout the seven-day tournament, teeing off today with practice rounds.

"With Indianapolis welcoming tens of thousands of visitors to town for the U.S. Senior Open, Comcast is proud to help enhance their visit by providing access to our high-speed Internet, voice and TV services at dozens of spots along the course," said Scott Tenney, Senior Vice President for Comcast's Indianapolis Region. "The response we've seen from the local business community has been tremendous," said Max Novena, Championship Director of the 2009 U.S. Senior Open. "Companies like Comcast make it possible for us to put on a first-class championship for the entire community."

Over the last several months, Comcast has installed its fiber-optic network at dozens of locations throughout Crooked Stick Golf Club, from the clubhouse to hospitality tents to the media center, among other sites. Comcast has even set up phone stations for tournament attendees to use to keep in touch with their office or home, as cell phones are not permitted along the course.
