Internet newlyweds booted from hotel
The Minnesota couple whose wedding dance became an Internet sensation say ABC canceled their airfare and hotel rooms because of their appearance on an NBC show.
Footage of Kevin Heinz and Jill Peterson joyously dancing down the aisle at their wedding reportedly has attracted more than 7 million YouTube views.
The Pioneer Press said ABC flew the St. Paul newlyweds to New York and put them up in a hotel so they could be interviewed on the network’s Good Morning America
program.
However, ABC had the couple booted out of the hotel and canceled their plane tickets home after they appeared on NBC’s Today
show, as well, the Press said.
We’ve been kicked out of our room,
Heinz told the New York Post. New York is cutthroat. That’s what we’ve learned.
Today
show publicist Megan Kopf told the Pioneer Press in an e-mail that NBC was more than happy to make up for our competitor’s bad manners
and would take care of their travel and accomodations.
