Jacko doc told police about Propofol

Michael Jackson’s personal physician told police in Los Angeles he gave Jackson Propofol the day the singer died, law enforcement sources told TMZ.

Jackson died at age 50 on June 25 after suffering cardiac arrest. The exact cause of his death is still being determined.

Police reportedly have interviewed Conrad Murray, Jackson’s private doctor, and searched his offices during the course of their investigation into the recording artist’s death.

TMZ cited unnamed law enforcement sources as saying Murray told police two days after Jackson died that he administered the anesthesia Propofol to the singer via intravenous drip hours before Jackson’s heart stopped.

The sources told the entertainment news Web site police suspect Murray wasn’t paying attention or perhaps had fallen asleep while the pop icon was under the anesthesia.

Jackson is believed to have been dead when Murray returned his attention to him.

Some media reports have suggested Jackson was an insomniac who used Propofol to help him sleep.
