Ed, Jillian get engaged on 'Bachelorette'

Canadian restaurant designer Jillian Harris got engaged to Chicago computer software consultant Ed Swiderski on Monday's season finale of The Bachelorette.

The romantic moment came after Harris told California business developer and Bachelorette runner-up Kiptyn Locke he hadn't won her heart, People.com said.

She also turned down a surprise proposal from Philadelphia realtor Reid Rosenthal, who was eliminated from the reality dating show in last week's episode, but returned for the finale.

There's no doubt in my mind that I'm madly in love with you, People.com quoted Harris as telling Swiderski when he finally arrived by limo.

I want to be with you forever. I want to have a family with you. I want you to give me a hard time when we're 80 years old. Jillian, will you marry me? Swiderski inquired, getting down on bended knee and offering her a $60,000 Neil Lane platinum and diamond ring.

Absolutely! was Harris' enthusiastic answer.
