Report: Curtains to drop on ’9 to 5′

The Broadway musical version of the 1980 movie 9 to 5
is expected to close around Labor Day, several theater sources told the New York Post.
The show featured a Tony Award-nominated score by the movie’s leading lady, Dolly Parton. The stage musical stars Allison Janney, Stephanie J. Block and Megan Hilty.

The Post said the critically panned 9 to 5
failed to re-invent the movie as a stage musical and stuck too close to the original work to offer audiences surprises.
