BERWYN and OAK PARK, Ill., Aug. 4 /PRNewswire-USNewswire/ — The Roosevelt Road Business Association (RRBA) will host the second annual Roosevelt Road Summer Spectacular Street Fair on August 15, 2009 from Noon to 8:00 p.m. The Fair will be celebrated on Roosevelt Road between East and Oak Park Avenues. The “green themed” Fair will include favorite local food vendors such as Wishbone/Berwyn, Byron’s Hot Dogs, DiNico’s Pizza, Ino’s Burritos, Turco’s Italian Deli and Gina’s Italian Ice as well as artists and retail vendors. The RRBA has continued to prioritize the inclusion of “green” businesses, artists and organizations to expose attendees to specialists and ordinary citizens who can explain how making conscious choices to “go green” not only protects the environment but also can improve their health, save them money and improve their overall quality of life.

A party not to be missed, the festival will be anchored by three musical stages with bands selected by the renowned FitzGerald’s. The Main Stage will feature popular R&B act, The Chicago Catz, The Giving Tree Band, Henhouse Prowlers, and The Iguanas. A family entertainment stage will feature Ac Rock, an a capella rock foursome, Circus Boy, and Ballet Folklorico de San Antonio de Padua. A new addition this year, the local stage welcomes The Patty Elvis Band and The Blue Lincolns and is proud to showcase high school musical talent with a Battle of the Bands hosted by Berwyn’s newly grown Horse Drawn Productions. Also present at the Fair will be the consultant Duncan and Assoc., who will be showcasing their renderings for the upcoming redevelopment of the Roosevelt Corridor between Harlem and Austin.

RRBA President Paul Zimmermann stated, “As Roosevelt Road moves forward with the development of a unified streetscape design plan and new zoning regulations for Berwyn, Oak Park and Cicero, we are thrilled to invite the community out to celebrate our successes on this vital corridor. Maintaining the tradition established in its inaugural year, the fest will continue to highlight the assets that establish Roosevelt Road as a reawakened entertainment and dining destination throughout the year.”
