Apl.de.Ap heading up new record label
Apl.de.Ap of the Black Eyed Peas says he is heading up a new record label based in Los Angeles called Jeepney Music.
The Grammy Award-winning recording artist is planning a launch party for the company at Hollywood’s
green and sustainable ECCO nightclub Aug. 11. Apl.de.Ap and his fellow Peas members Fergie, Taboo and Will.i.am are expected to attend the event.
The Los Angeles-based record label is founded on the principle of giving back, to both Apl.de.Ap’s homeland of the Philippines and the global community, the singer’s representatives said in a news release.
Jeepney Music will feature not only emerging recording artists, but will also highlight the growing number of disc jockeys and collaborative artists as he continues to build his label on the forefront of the digital transformation of music. In an unprecedented act, Jeepney Music is calling all artists in the Los Angeles area to drop off their music demos at the event from 10 p.m.-12 a.m.
